Bill Hosley, principal of TerraFirmaNE, began his Connecticut-based consulting business in 2008 to assist communities, museums and historical organizations in achieving excellence through operations, innovative program planning and growth through resource assessment, strategic thinking, and good planning. His extensive background as a curator, collector, preservationist, educator, museum director and trustee provided him with the tools and insight to guide museums and communities toward optimizing their potential and discovering new opportunities and value in in the management and development of cultural resources. His network of associates in fields ranging from architecture and design to conservation and government relations are the basis for a team approach to your needs.

Bill’s background is in history, art history, economics and American culture, with degrees from Middlebury College (BA, Economics), the Winterthur Program (University of Delaware) and University of Colorado (Museum Management) that complement 30+ years of experience in historic preservation, exhibition & program development, institutional advancement and planning and marketing.

Hosley has written five books, scores of articles and has lectured all over the United States on topics ranging from art and Americana to urbanism, place-making and historic preservation and was chair of a key vetting committee for the Winter Antiques Show in New York.
